Interesting infographic from The Opinion Economy, which despite being a couple of years old, is good to keep in mind because it takes us through the history and shows us the potential of blockchain technology beyond its most famous use case, that of cryptocurrencies.

Something important to note is that blockchain is not a technological change such as the change from mainframe applications to distributed ones, or the use of NoSQL databases versus relational data. Blockchain is a paradigm shift, it is a way of understanding social and business relationships in a globalized world where we are all totally connected on a daily basis, and where creating a framework of trust and security is key.
